Grand Rapids, MI Orthodontists
Starting any form of orthodontic treatment can be a bit nerve-wracking. However, you can rest easy knowing that our Grand Rapids orthodontist, Dr. Miller has treated countless patients of all ages over the years and given each one a beautiful smile that they can proudly show off. At your initial consultation, we’ll go over recommendations for treatment and what you can expect during each phase.
The first step in your smile journey is coming into our Grand Rapids orthodontics office and getting your initial consultation underway. This visit is relatively straightforward and will give you the opportunity to meet our team, learn more about orthodontics, receive an oral exam, and review your treatment options.
Dr. Miller will explain every detail along the way so you or a guardian are not left searching for answers. It is our goal to educate every patient on their treatment plan so everyone is on board with what is being recommended.
As we’re wrapping up your initial consultation, Dr. Miller will share his final thoughts with you and confirm that you’d like to proceed with treatment. If so, we’ll go ahead and schedule your first appointment where Dr. Miller will place your new braces or design your Invisalign® clear aligners for fabrication.
If it is determined that you require Phase 1 treatment before a full set of braces can be put on, Dr. Miller will inform you of what is required to make room for incoming adult teeth. We’ll be sure to brief you on all that you can expect so you’re comfortable and relaxed during every part of the appointment.
To ensure your orthodontic treatment remains on track for completion, you’ll need to visit our office for necessary adjustments and evaluation. Dr. Miller recommends you come in for a checkup every 4-8 weeks so we can see how you’re progressing and answer any questions you may have.
Please let us know what times or days are most convenient for you and we’ll do our best to accommodate your schedule. Routine visits such as these are an important part of your treatment and allow Dr. Miller to monitor your tooth and jaw movement.
You’ll also need to continue seeing your family dentist during the time in which you’re wearing metal braces or Invisalign aligners. These appointments, as well as regular brushing and flossing at home, will keep your oral hygiene from possibly interfering with your orthodontic treatment.
We’re pleased that you have chosen Miller Orthodontics for your orthodontic treatment.
